What is the DELF exam?
DELF language levels
The DELF exam consists of four independent diplomas:
DELF A1
This diploma is designed for beginners and assesses the candidate's ability to understand and use basic French phrases and expressions.
DELF A2
This diploma is designed for elementary level learners and assesses the candidate's ability to communicate in simple and routine tasks.
DELF B1
This diploma is designed for intermediate level learners and assesses the candidate's ability to communicate in a variety of everyday situations and express their opinions on familiar topics.
DELF B2
This diploma is designed for advanced level learners and assesses the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in most everyday and professional situations.
Each of these diplomas consists of four parts: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The listening and reading sections are multiple-choice tests, while the speaking and writing sections are more interactive and require the candidate to demonstrate their skills through various tasks. The DELF is internationally recognized and is often required for admission to French universities or for professional purposes. It is a valuable credential that demonstrates the candidate's proficiency in the French language.
