Staying with a local host family allows you to practise German daily and pick up everyday language while discovering the rich local culture. Approximately 25 to 50 minutes from the school by public transport (please note that commute times can be longer during high season), students are accommodated in single or twin rooms, with half-board or breakfast provided. Usually called a WG (Wohngemeinschaft), this is a very popular way for students and twenty-somethings to live in Germany. If you are looking for more independence, staying with one or several German people in the very heart of Freiburg could be perfect for you. The apartments are generally between 25-35 minutes from the school by public transport, but could be up to 50 minutes away. Sleeping in a single room, you will share the bathroom and kitchen with your flatmates. This kind of accommodation encourages you to discover Freiburg on your own terms. Double room only available for students travelling together. 

The school offers several apartments located just a 10 minute walk from the course centre, either on foot or by public transport. Students will share an apartment with 2-3 others from the same school, while enjoying independence in a furnished single or double room. Each room has a desk, chair, lamp, and wardrobe. Common areas include a shared bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. Free Wi-Fi is also available, and there are laundry facilities for an extra charge.

This residence is in a popular student neighbourhood, surrounded by bars, cafes and restaurants – all just a 10-minute walk from the school. Students will have the choice of either a single or twin room – each with a desk, chair, lamp, wardrobe, and access to a shared bathroom. Students will share a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, and a living area with a television. There is Wi-Fi available throughout the building, and laundry facilities are available for a fee.

Stay in a comfortable, social environment within the appealingly green Vauban neighbourhood, just a 25-minute walk from the school. The apartment has two bedrooms, each reserved for students of your school, and a shared bathroom, shared kitchen, and a spacious dining area with a TV and free Wi-Fi throughout the apartment. Linen is provided, but students should bring their own towels, both can be cleaned for a fee in the onsite facilities. You’ll be responsible for keeping the common areas of your apartment and your room clean and separating your rubbish into the recycling bins. There is a spacious terrace for students to enjoy the famously sunny days in Freiburg.

The residence is located in an 8-storey building, just 25 minutes’ tram ride from the town centre. It welcomes both local and international students, thus encouraging conversations in German. All students have their own room with an ensuite bathroom and can use the communal kitchen on each floor.
